This little project came from one of my monthly DIY Pantry Classes, where we make simple, affordable things to stock your pantry with ingredients you know and trust. It’s my favorite way to gather friends, share ideas, and have fun while learning something useful.

And bonus — it smells amazing while you’re mixing it up!

Ranch Dressing Mix Recipe

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 0 minutes

Makes: 1 cup (16 tbsp)

 Ingredients

4 tbsp dried parsley

3 tbsp dried dill

2 tbsp garlic powder

2 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp dried chives

1 tbsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

Mix it all together. Empty the contents of your Ranch Mix package into a bowl and stir until everything is evenly combined.

Store it for later. Pour your mix back into the jar (or any airtight container). It’ll keep fresh for up to 6 months in your pantry.

To make dressing: Combine 2 tablespoons of dry mix with ½ cup mayonnaise and ½ cup milk. Stir well and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving — this lets the flavors really blend.

Use it as a seasoning. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon over popcorn, roasted potatoes, veggies, or chicken for an instant burst of flavor.

 Customization Ideas

Zesty Ranch: Add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest when mixing your dressing.

Spicy Ranch: Stir in ½ teaspoon cayenne for a little kick.

Creamier Flavor: Add 1 tablespoon dry buttermilk powder to the mix.
